Some very important points

  • Ensure that you have a valid passport. Temporary passports are not accepted in Botswana.
  • You will get visas at the points of entry in Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
  • Zimbabwe uses US dollars, and the country is experiencing cash problems so ATM’s have no cash most of the times. You are advised change money to USD dollars before travelling. You can also use South African in some shops and on the streets. Your visa cards also work in Zambia and Botswana. Botswana uses Botswana Pula and Zambian Kwacha in Zambia.
  • Yellow fever vaccination is no longer a requirement to enter Zambia
  • Travel insurance is recommended but optional.
